About Stephanie
Stephanie Rueb Mccarthy
Thank you for visiting! I’m Stephanie, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share a little about myself. I’m married to a wonderful man, and together we have two amazing daughters. I’m also blessed with two sons-in-law and two beautiful granddaughters who bring so much joy to my life.
Growing up, my parents were kind and supportive. They loved children and wanted to have ten; they ended up with eight. I am the oldest and have seven younger brothers. Mom and Dad taught us to love God and to be respectful, generous, and giving of ourselves, and our resources. They also instilled a love of learning and an expectation to do our very best. I was consistently told I would be successful and could reach any goal I set for myself. I thank God daily that I was taught that due to the trials and tribulations I have endured since childhood.
I have had many struggles throughout my life and with God’s and my family’s help found a way to push through them and continue forward. Over the years, I have had three surgeons, a psychologist, a general physician, and several friends suggest I write a book about my life to share with others and to hopefully, give people some inspiration.
My passion for child development is deeply personal. I pursued my education in Pre-K through 6th grade education and psychology, later earning a master’s degree in education with a focus on curriculum and development. My thesis, which explored Self-Esteem in the Middle School Years, reflects my ongoing commitment to understanding the emotional and psychological needs of children as they grow.
